Help with childcare costs course
Universal Credit and tax-free childcare are two major new ways to pay for childcare. This one day course will look at what working parents need to know when considering the two schemes, the differences between them and how they interact with existing help including tax credits and childcare vouchers. Help with childcare costs for parents in education and training will also be presented and the criteria for eligibility will be highlighted.
This course will cover eligibility for the extended free entitlement (30 hours), helping you understand which parents/carers of three and four year olds will be eligible for an additional 15 hours free childcare.

Course content will include:
- An introduction to Universal Credit
- Clear information about eligibility and how current benefits will transfer across to Universal Credits for families
- An introduction to tax-free childcare and the processes for accessing an account
- Examples of better off calculations for families in different financial circumstances
- An overview of help with childcare costs for parents or carers in education and training
- Eligability criteria for the extended free entitlement for three and four year olds (30 hours)
- A good practice guide to disseminate key information to the wider team
£220 + VAT (lunch is not included).
